In the early spring Striped Bass migrate there way into Ipswich bay where the remain until the end of October. Many of the larger 20 to 40 pound Stripers are caught using both live and cut bait. We supply a wide assortment of tackle of which trolling plugs and umbrella rigs are the most productive. Most of the rivers feeding into the Ipswich Bay including the Merrimac River offer the Stripers a variety of bait fish including Sand Eels and many species of Herring. We also catch Mackerel as bait or for your consumption as well if you like Mackerel. The fishing regulations for the year 2011 allowed (2) fish over 28 inches or greater per person. Bluefish No size length, (10) fish per person. Bluefish usually arrive when the water temperature reaches somewhere close to 60 degrees and are in the area until mid October. Novice anglers may gain a lot of confidence catching countless numbers of these "choppers" in a days outing. Once hooked, bluefish are relentless fighters, capable of giving even the experienced angler a challenge. Keep alcoholic beverages to reasonable amounts. We are a drug free vessel, any possession or use of drugs will result in termination of the trip. It will also be reported to authorities.
